All Gold Canyon Pickleball Club Members please be advised that the date for the Annual General Meeting is Monday, Feb. 26th at 3:30pm at the Pergola. A rain date will be announced if necessary.
All AGM documents will be posted on the website and a packet will be available at the courts on Monday, Feb. 12th. We encourage all members to attend this meeting.
As a reminder, we are still looking for an individual or a couple to take on the role of Vice President of the Club. The Vice President will assist the President whenever required to do so and assume the duties of the President when he/she is unavailable. The Vice President will also maintain a close liaison with the GCRV management.
We are looking for prize donations for the February social. If you are one of those talented people who make craft items and would like to donate one or two, please let Jennie Clement know by emailing her at jenniec@rochester.rr.com.
APPL RESULTS
The Men’s 65+ APPL team (Gold Canyon Big Dills) were victorious in their match on Sunday. The Dills beat the Roadrunners 27 - 18. We hopefully helped the visitors lick their wounds with a few cold ones afterwards.
Here are the match details:
Chris Johnson & Phil Thwaites 11pts
Dale Ermel & Perry Young 9 pts
Dave Trimmer & Kerry Schaefer 7 pts
The tremendous support from the many spectators was amazing and certainly made the effort that much easier and much more rewarding.
Our next two matches will be out of the park. We play the Roadrunners again on their Home court on Friday and Sun Lakes on Feb 15. Our next Home match will be on the 18th against Las Palmas.
Cheers,
Perry Young

End of an Era
Sadly for our club, the amazing Jean and Jimmie Hatch have decided to step down from leading the Monday Learn to Play sessions this year. Their dedication to the game of pickleball has made our club unique and we can't thank them enough for all of the hard work and effort they have put into training new players in a safe, supportive and fun environment.
You are an inspiration to us all and have helped to make GCPBC so very special! We will miss you on the courts on Monday but we are thrilled that you will have more free time to continue your adventures!
These are clearly big shoes to fill, but if you or someone you know is interested in leading this series next year, please let Dave Trimmer know at davetrimmer1@gmail.com
And last but not least don't forget that the Luck Of The Draw tournament sign up starts at 4:00 today!
